I like to hit a soft "reset" button each month and to take stock of the prior month. And with September being here, that "back to school" feeling I hope is energizing you a bit more, too.  Below is a coaching tool I use personally - and with professionals I work with - that is a nice easy way to transition from one month to the next.

This is your reset, so there are no right or wrong ways to do this, and no limit on the number of answers you can give. You can also have just one response to any question. If you feel like it write them down as it can be a lovely way to keep track of your year. I even do this series of questions at work as a way to connect with my team.  I hope you like them, too.

Have a great start to your September!

August Digestion:

1. What in August are you most proud of that you accomplished or experienced?

2. What are the top challenges you encountered in August?

3.  What in August are you most grateful for?

September Reset:

1. Top Inner Intention: An inner intention is something you'd like to accomplish in your mindset or inner workings - think about what is really important to you and how you want to experience life in this month.  Examples could be: "I want to be more present with my family" or "I want to bring more courage and energy on this intimidating work project." It could also be: "I intend to be more flexible with my team member" or "I want to be less judgmental about myself, and be nicer to myself." These are just a few ideas.

2. Top Outer Intention: This is something you'd like to manifest in the physical, outer world this month. It could be reorganizing a closet, or redesigning your office. It could be upgrading your wardrobe for the fall, or planning a vacation. It could be going to the gym twice a week, or going to bed extra-early.

3.  Top Professional Intention: what do you want to accomplish this month at work?  Maybe your schedule has that already determined for you (like a trial setting or a deal closing) - or maybe its something like catching up on billable hours, getting ahead on a challenging briefing schedule, or volunteering to do some thought leadership that you want to accomplish before the end of year craziness hits.

REFLECT: Notice how running through this exercise makes you feel.  Excited?  Calmer? More focused? Maybe you didn't like it at all - why is that? Sometimes people find intention-setting confronting. And that's okay too - but try to press through it. I'll be posting this every month, so I hope you find it useful! ๐Ÿงก
